kimono will play a concert to celebrate the release of their third album Easy Music for Difficult People at the Icelandic Opera on Thursday, the 11th of March 2010. The concert will be the largest that kimono has undertaken yet and will include guest performers of material from their older albums along with a visual display that will make this show a treat for the eyes and ears.

There will be a show at Grand Rokk (yeah... we know... it's been a while) with tamarin/(gunslinger) and the Caterpillarmen on January 21st 2010. We'll be playing material off of our new album "Easy Music for Difficult People". Both of the bands playing with us are up-and-coming bands from the Reykjavik scene with a penchant for some prog-ishness. So it should be a lot of fun. See you there.

EM4DP is kimono's third studio album and their first album of all new material since Arctic Death Ship, which received 5 stars in Morgunbladid when it was released in late 2005. Since then, kimono has moved to Berlin, returned home, lost a bass player, and emerged on the other end of it all stronger and more focused than ever. You might say that kimono has flown "under the radar" for the past few years, but this album is going to get in everyone's face like a psychic on uppers.

kimono and Bloodgroup will be headlining a show at Sodoma Reykjavik on Friday, November 27th. Prins Polo will open the show.

Both kimono and Bloodgroup are releasing albums this month. kimono is releasing Easy Music for Difficult People on Kimi Records and Bloodgroup is releasing their new record "Dry Land" on Record Records in the beginning of December.

The show starts at 11:00 and goes into the night. Prins Polo starts, then kimono and then Bloodgroup will take the party somewhere.

"Wire" from the upcoming kimono album Easy Music for Difficult People was played on Breakthru Radio's recent program on the Reykjavik music scene. The program features a variety of Icelandic artists including Ólafur Arnalds, Retro Stefson, Sin Fang Bous and many others. Lottie Leymarie, the DJ responsible for the show, does some heroic work pronouncing difficult Icelandic band names. Definitely check it out.
